Otterham

Otterham - St Dennis - Grade II - 13th Century

Otterham is near Marshgate and easily found, inland, off the busy A39, down a pretty lane. This ancient and interesting little church is situated in a tranquil hamlet. It has three ringable bells and is always open to welcome visitors.

From Hartland Point in the North of the region (Stoke Church, a lovely setting and a landmark tower some 144 feet tall) to Boscastle in the South of the region (Church of St Juliot restored by Thomas Hardy when he was a young architect) there is a wealth of interesing Old Churches, Celtic Crosses and Holy Wells.  Don't miss the church at Morwenstow, dramatic setting, unusual chimneys on the vicarage and the connection with Robert Hawker who came to the parish in 1834, see Hawker's Hut on the cliff edge, probably the National Trusts smallest property.

Now available from the Bude Visitor Centre.  Eleven, laminated full colour illustrated informative cards on churches in and around the Bude area. Price £3.99
